👶 What Is the Estimated Due Date Calculator?

The Estimated Due Date Calculator is a helpful digital tool designed for expectant mothers who are planning or tracking their pregnancy. It calculates the likely date of delivery based on a woman’s menstrual cycle or assisted reproductive procedures like IVF.

This tool follows medically recognized formulas such as Naegle’s Rule and uses the information you provide to estimate:

  • The expected date of birth
  • The current pregnancy week
  • The number of days remaining until delivery

📅 What Information Is Used for the Calculation?

Our calculator offers three different methods to estimate your due date:

1. Based on the First Day of the Last Menstrual Period (LMP)

This is the most commonly used method.
📌 Formula:
Estimated Due Date = LMP + 280 days (40 weeks)
Recommended for women with regular menstrual cycles.

2. Based on the Date of Conception

Used when ovulation or conception date is known.
📌 Formula:
Estimated Due Date = Conception Date + 266 days
Assumes fertilization occurred on the day of ovulation.

3. Based on Embryo Transfer Date (IVF)

Ideal for those undergoing assisted reproductive technology.
📌 Formula:

  • For 3-day embryos: Transfer Date + 263 days
  • For 5-day embryos: Transfer Date + 261 days

🧮 How to Use the Calculator?

  1. Select your calculation method: LMP, conception or embryo transfer.
  2. Enter the relevant date.
  3. If applicable, choose embryo development day.
  4. Click the “📅 Estimate Due Date” button.

The tool will instantly show you:

  • Your estimated due date
  • The number of days remaining until delivery
  • Your current pregnancy week
  • Your total days of pregnancy so far

📈 How Accurate Are the Results?

This tool relies on scientifically accepted averages and medical formulas. However:

  • Every woman’s body and hormonal rhythm is different.
  • The actual delivery date may vary from the estimated one.
  • True labor can only be confirmed when it begins.

The results are for informational purposes only and do not replace medical advice. Regular prenatal visits remain essential.

🤰 Why Is Tracking Pregnancy Important?

Knowing your pregnancy week helps you:

  • Time ultrasound scans and medical tests accurately
  • Monitor baby’s developmental milestones
  • Prepare physically and emotionally for delivery
